When you break it down, perceived intellect of a man is just his capabilities and his affinities. They seem directly correlated, as his capabilities are higher he has a tendency to enjoy more of what we call "high culture". That means that mediocre cultural output won't satisfy him and that he goes for more rare and refined works of art or other cultural produce. When you say it like that, it seems commendable as it indicates bigger capacities, but in practice what does it mean? It means that he struggles to find satisfaction. Same goes for ambitious men. Surely if they ever achieve something their obsessive and compulsive work will be deemed "noble", but in this life they find no refuge. Take for example a guy who can only get sexual satisfaction if his leg is in a bear trap when he performs. He wouldn't be esteemed in this, he would just be seen as a pervert, or at best a very sick man who ruined his chance for happiness.

Yeah? Is it amazing because it's so objectively enjoyable or because it's a moment of relief of their anguish? There's no nobility in being constantly depraved for a "higher goal". It might seem /lit/ to you from afar but from a first person point of view it's just not great. I advise you bros to leave knowledge alone, as it'll be there anyway and pursue simple happiness instead.
