What is the point of literature

I get easily distracted when reading on a screen. I have tried an e-reader and it's the same. Anyone else have this problem?

In all seriousness, though, I am very disappointed in how no sane book about helping people with gender dysphoria seems to exist. The political left feeds trannies lies that feel good and the political right offers no solution at all.

I got rid of all my physical books. Too much of a hassle moving them around when changing flats. I wound love to have a physical library, but it is just not possible as a renter.

I remember reading a novel in high school about a nazi with a philosophy PhD who enjoyed ballet and music. He discussed Kants categorical imperative with Eichmann. By chance, does anyone know the name of this book?
