You guys don't realize when you say Egyptian, the Egyptian empire literally stretched all the way to the extreme south of the African continent for thousands of years, and spread across a broad lush plain. Egyptian is both supra-Saharan and sub-Saharan.

Likewise, Northern Africa and the Middle East have plenty of classics and contributions, a few of which I've listed already.

I know Asian classics because I am fluent in Japanese and have Japanese friends. Just because we here aren't well versed in the cultures of Sub-Saharan Africa doesn't mean they don't have literature, or oral histories comparable to Ireland's, Sumeria's, Egypt's, Palestine's, India's, Japan's, etc.,.
