Grad student here. I was in a semester-long course that dealt with aesthetics and political philosophy: discussing liberalism, class, fascism and so on; from the perspective of a literary scholar.

I now have to write a paper. I want to work on neo-reactionary themes, something to do with the reaction against modernity as seen in the modern american far-right.But I cannot come with anything concrete.

Can anyone help me out?

Slam together Adorno, Spengler, and Sorel.

Adorno because frankfurt is good for any cultural critique as a rule, and adorno hated everything more than anyone else.
Spengler because you can talk about degeneracy or whatever either as an authentic thing or as significant mythology within reaction.
Sorel is important because he discusses how parliamentarians rely on basically promoting 'progressive' policies while not engaging in promoting class interests and basically becoming just another type of class enemy. He argues for a mass strike as a means of rejecting parliamentarianism and bring about an authentic works state. Big influence on Mussolini.

If only there was some writer who wrote a book dealing with some kind of revolt against the modern world.
