Recommend me books that foster critical thinking skills.

>> No.22353888

those are inborn but go grind out a bunch of math textbooks and the entire problem sets at the end of chapters

Any philosophical texts that teach the same thing?

why are you hesitant when it comes to mathematics?

You really do seem to lack critical thinking skills.

Let’s criticize critical thinking then

That's not me. That's just some /pol/ faggot. Thinking about maths is harder in general, not because it is abstract but that it requires you to go down the rabbit hole into set theory/category theory/ZFC in order to gain a comprehensive overview over mathematical structures and how they work when placed together.

I recall reading a book a while back on the axiomatic nature of solving problems and how some mathematicians such as Von Neumann utilized it to make groundbreaking contributions.
What I'm trying to ask is how to ask proper questions that go beyond the "why" and "what if" questions to gain deeper insight as well as how to evaluate the quality or utility of questions asked.

you are simply not going to parse modern mathematics as it is based largely upon theory upon theory upon theory, much of it stemming, again, from albert jewstein poisoning the well
>b-but it sent us to the moon
it didnt and that delusion is why mathematics has not progressed meaningfully in about 100 years

The majority of mathematics that have been discovered/invented, were carried out solely to gain a better understanding of mathematical structures, amongst other things.
The applications of mathematics only came later when someone discovered the utility of a certain theorem/field
e.g Number Theory and Cryptography

Unironically read Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, Sirach, and Job and just become Catholic.
