I have no idea why, but my laptop works again. All I did was unscrew and try to pry the lid off so that I could remove the battery, fail, think I broke something, put it back together, cry in bed, try to turn it off again, it fails to even show me the battery error, plug it back on, it boots like normal again
Disk still unrecovered and I live in fear of the battery exploding and killing me. But at least I have something to browse the internet and watch Shiori on comfortably.
