You don't need to go out of your way to try and "find" an oshi.
Don't feel like you have to chain yourself right away to one specific person, or to one specific corpo.
Just watch whatever streams seem interesting to you, and eventually you'll stumble across someone whose content truly clicks with you.

You can only really find an oshi when you aren't actively looking for one. It's like falling in love, it's either spontaneous or growing in secret.

It isnt something you'll really get until it hits you in the face like a brick thrown at you. I asked the same thing and it took me like 5 years.
You'll be an oshi-less nomad, going from stream to stream without really cheering for anyone until one day you feel like a deer frozen by the highlights. You might not realize it at the time but if she's on your mind regularly, you make a lot of sacrifices for her and finally say "I'll be better, not for me but for her" then congrats, she found you. I can tell you it'll happen when you expect it the least.
Be prepared to cheer for her when it finally happens, big or small her career has an expiration date and you will regret it forever if you dont.

Oshi means favorite. If you've watched even one vtuber then she's your oshi by default. Your problem isn't that you don't have an oshi, it's that she's simply shit.
Just like with any other media, you'll just have to watch more vtubers and cultivate your taste. Eventually you'll find a good one.
